Just returned from a long trip through Germany. In Frankfurt we had a great evening with Mike Rhodin, General Manager of IBM Lotus Software, talking about the future of Workplace products, some exciting new software products from Lotus and we got some insights on IBM´s strategy in the collaboration and portal market space. There could be no better place than the Estragon, and Uffe chosed the right wine.
I can not tell you everything what I heard, but I can make a serious prediction for the upcoming IBM Technical Forum at DNUG: This year there will definetly not be an announcment for a „Karlsruhe“ release – IBMers simply would never be able to pronounce it the right way 🙂
You are right, it really as a graet evening and i didn´t see the workplace amd especially the office strategy from the point of view Mike told us.
I think DNUG should take care to choose the locations for their conferences in cities with names american people can pronounce, so what about Berlin for the next conference. So Mike can introduce a „Berlin“ release there or even say „Ich bin ein Berliner“.
P.S.:
Berlin würde doch auch gut zur „Liberate“ Strategie passen.
