Lotusphere Online

ls09online50

One of the first emails in my Inbox this year: Lotusphere Online is open. Looks very good, most parts I visited are Domino based. A lot of session presentations are available as PDF. Schedule database is somehow slow, but building the schedule was much easier than last year when I had to fight a lot of errors.

Update: Well, ok then. My attempt to connect to Volker was denied by WebSphere Lotus Connections.

Confirmed

Since I left my old job in October and set up my new company I worked on so many Non-Lotus related things I nearly forgot about Lotusphere.

I have been to Lotusphere Orlando all the last years, I have visited Lotusphere Europe back in the old days – and I will be there 2009. Thanks to IBM I took the chance to see what´s next in the collaboration business. This time I will be there as a consultant, not as a reseller and software developer. My role has changed, probably my point of view, too.

I am happy to meet lots of people I know for years now. See you there in January.

Lotusphere Comes To Berlin

Die Lotusphere kommt wie jedes Jahr auch nach Berlin zur XCOM. Und auch zum ersten Mal ist die Veranstaltung restlos ausgebucht.

Lotusphere comes to Berlin

Lotusphere @ XCOM AG. Great Speakers like Uffe Sörensen and Volker Jürgensen. Full house. I think this will be an exciting day tomorrow at our new location.

Arrived

Finally I made it. A little late, but I arrived safe and sound. This year for some reason I had a stop over in Milano, then headed to Atlanta. Flying over the alps with clear weather was great. Delta reps were unsual friendly these days, and food was great. Maybe because the catering company was italian 😉

Had a very warm welcome in cold Atlanta with hot Mexican food and celebrating a great birthday party – thanks Rusty.

Then headed today at 6:00 a.m. to Orlando. Unfortunatly too late for the Business Development Day opening session. From what I have heard from other attendees everybody is realy excited. A streamlined product portfolio (Workplace, anyone?), Sametime 7.5 buzz and of course Lotus Notes 8. Some announcements around the Activities, Document Management and Task Management expected to hear tomorrow. And a strong focus on social software and Web 2.0 stuff that will find its way to the Lotus product portfolio.

Official numbers say there are much more attendees than in the last year. From what I can say Hotels were sold out much earlier than last year.

And I am here only for a few hours and ran into so many well known friends and colleagues. This shoud become a great week here at Lotusphere.

T -10 days

Yesterday I received my Lotusphere Online registration information. And I realized that Lotusphere is only a few days ahead. Until now there I felt no real excitement about going to Orlando this year, but now I am looking forward to meet the community at Lotusphere. I am not sure, but I think it is my seventh or eighth Lotusphere I will attend. Have to count my t-shirts these days…

Over there at Gonzo´s Unoffical Lotusphere Site nothing has changed. Same old 2001 design, first rumours about the wednesday night party, usefull tips and lots more what you should read if you are a first time visitor. Pictures will go to flickr as in the last year, and someone proposed to use youtube.com for Lotusphere Videos.

So I am tuned in now. See you in Orlando.
